Are you an artist looking for funding to support an upcoming project? Unlike loans and those tempting rewards credit card, grants are an option that don’t require you to pay them back. Money for creating? Let’s go!!

But - how do you get started? What opportunities even exist these days? Aren’t grants for, like, really good artists and I’m not at that level and am I even an artist at all? If any of these questions feel familiar, you’re not alone - in fact you’re part of the reason EASEL exists!

The barrier to entry with grant programs is real, and a little friendly guidance can make all the difference. In this 1-hour crash course, EASEL founder Nikki Erskine will share insights from her 4+ years as the admin for the Worcester Arts Council (WAC) to help you get familiar with the process, requirements, and planning. Following a presentation will be a Q&A, and once you’re nice and inspired you’re welcome to stick around after the course to work on your application materials.

WAC grant applications will be the focus as applications are due October 16, but much of what we’ll cover will be applicable to other grant programs (including other LCCs) and artistic opportunities.

Note: While group sessions are great for efficiently sharing general information at a reduced cost, keep in mind that individual attention will be limited. EASEL offers one-on-one support for project planning, writing and editing, budget development, marketing strategy, and more at a rate of $60/hour.
